Tenant FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions for Tenants
How do I report a repair?
Repairs should be reported as soon as possible using our maintenance reporting process. Early reporting helps prevent minor issues becoming larger problems. You can report a repair here.
What happens to my deposit?
Your deposit will be protected within a government-approved tenancy deposit protection scheme. Details of the scheme will be provided at the start of your tenancy.
Can my rent be increased?
Rent increases must follow the legal process and cannot be imposed arbitrarily. If you have questions regarding a proposed increase, please contact our team.
Can I keep a pet?
Under current legislation, tenants may request permission to keep a pet. Each request will be considered individually and landlords must have reasonable grounds where permission is refused.
What should I do in an emergency?
If there is an immediate risk to safety, contact the emergency services where appropriate and then notify our team as soon as possible.
Am I responsible for maintenance?
Tenants are expected to take reasonable care of the property and report issues promptly. Landlords remain responsible for repairs and maintenance required under housing legislation.
How much notice do I need to give?
Notice requirements depend upon your tenancy agreement and current legislation. Please contact us for guidance specific to your circumstances.
What happens when I move out?
The property should be returned in a clean condition, with all belongings removed and keys returned. A check-out inspection will be conducted before the tenancy is formally closed.
